SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) — Shares of McDermott International Inc. fell in the extended session Monday after the energy industry services provider fell short of Wall Street estimates for the fourth quarter and suspended its outlook.
Shares of McDermott (MDR) fell 7.5% to $7.50 on heavy volume after the company reported a loss of $1.37 a share on revenue of $517.3 million. Analysts surveyed by FactSet expected fourth-quarter earnings of 15 cents a share on revenue of $820.1 million.

The company also said in a statement it was "withdrawing prior financial guidance, and suspending guidance for the foreseeable future" as it enacts organization changes and closes out legacy projects. Analysts are expecting earnings of 1 cents a share for the first quarter on revenue of $728.6 million.
U.S. shares of Vipshop Holdings Ltd. (VIPS) jumped 23% to $157 on moderate volume after the Chinese online discount retailer reported adjusted fourth-quarter earnings of 49 cents a share on revenue of $651 million. Analysts expected 38 cents a share on revenue of $589 million.
Ascena Retail Group Inc. (ASNA) shares fell 6.5% to $17.65 a share after the operator of such retail chains as Justice and Lane Bryant forecast fiscal 2014 earnings of $1 to $1.05 a share. Analysts expect $1.16 a share.
The company reported adjusted second-quarter earnings of 23 cents a share on revenue of $1.27 billion, while analysts expected 20 cents a share on revenue of $1.27 billion.
