Stocks look set to make an early run at breaking their two-day losing streak.
S&P 500 futures have 0.2%, while Dow Jones Industrial Average futures have risen 0.1%. Nasdaq Composite futures have advanced 0.2%.
American Airlines (AAL) has gained 5.3% to $42.40 after reporting solid June traffic.
Alcoa (AA) has risen 2.8% to $15.26 after the aluminum company beat the Street’s earnings and revenue forecasts.
Salix Pharmaceuticals (SLXP) has declined 4.2% to $131.50 after it agreed to merge with Cosmo Pharmaceutical’s Irish unit in a deal meant to cut its tax rate. That deal disappointed investors who had been betting that Salix would get taken over at a premium.
MSC Industrial Direct (MSM) has dropped 5.8% to $87.98 after the company met earnings forecasts but missed on revenue and offered disappointing fourth-quarter guidance.
Celgene (CELG) has declined 2.1% to $83.94 after the biotech company said its arthritis drug didn’t meet its primary endpoint in a trial.
